Five Fun Facts about St Lucia’s Day

1. St. Lucia was a christian martyer who died in 304 AD.

2. Lucia always stands for light.

3. In Scandanavia the edest daughter dresses in a white gown.  She wears a crown full of candles and serves her family baked goods, coffee and mulled wine called glogg.

4. Each town also elects a girl as a Lucia to lead a procession through the town.

5. Common food for St. Lucia’s day include saffron bread shaped like curled up cats with raisin eyes.
